Pediatrician Carlos González debunks grandmothers' old sayings about babies' habits: "They're just nonsense."

Author of bestselling books such as "My Child Won't Eat" and " Kiss Me a Lot ," Dr. Carlos González is one of the most renowned pediatricians in Spain. In an interview on the Endor Technologies podcast, González debunks some of the typical arguments grandmothers have with babies.

Some of those typical phrases are: "If you pick him up, he'll get used to it," "If he sleeps with you, he'll never want to sleep alone," "If he breastfeeds for too long, he won't come off."

Dr. Carlos González asks: "What if I take him in the stroller, won't he get used to it? And if I put a diaper on him, won't he get used to it either? I put five diapers on him a day for three years, and then he grows out of it without a problem ," the pediatrician reflects.

For example, another practice that elicits numerous similar comments is co-sleeping. González recalls that many people sarcastically comment , "You'll have to sleep with him on his wedding night."

"You never hear someone say, ' He'll get used to sleeping alone and then he won't be able to get married because he won't know how to sleep with someone else,'" Dr. González reflects in his podcast.

The pediatrician wonders why these comments aren't made about other common habits: "No one tells you: he'll get used to the stroller and won't walk. But they do tell you: don't pick him up, he'll get used to it ," he concludes.
